Keep your orchid in bright, indirect sunlight. Most orchids need bright but indirect light – an east or west-facing windowsill is often perfect. Too much light can scorch the leaves, so don’t stand in direct sunshine.
Water your orchid when the soil has almost dried out completely ever week with a shot glass amount of luke warm water.
Keep your orchid in a moss-based medium as it has been planted.
In most centrally heated homes the air is dry, so mist the foliage every two to three days using tepid water (avoid spraying the flowers).
Roses & Bouquets
Trim the Stems
After you have unwrapped your bouquet, cut the stems at a 45-degree angle. We recommend using shears if you have them to ensure a cleaner cut. Trim the stems every couple days.
Clean Water Daily
One of the best tips for getting the most enjoyment out of your flowers is to change the water daily with fresh, cold water. The water should look good enough to drink! To ensure the water stays clean, remove any leaves or foliage from the stems that fall under the waterline of the vase.
Use the Flower Food
Drop in the supplied flower food into your vase and follow the instructions on the packet (this helps your flowers last longer). If you need to make your own or run out, you can replicate at home by adding a couple of drops of bleach and a pinch of sugar to fresh water.
Keep in Indirect Light
Place your flowers in the vase and keep them in indirect sunlight. If you’d like for your blooms to open up more quickly, perhaps for a special event, then use warm water to gently coax the blooms open.
Remove Stems as Needed
Every stem has a different expected vase life. As blooms expire, pull them out from the bouquet to keep the other blooms fresher, longer. Enjoy your bouquet’s subtle changes each day as it ages gracefully!
Dry Bouquet & Cotton Flowers
Gently Fluff it Up
Your dried bouquet will arrive tightly enclosed to help protect the flowers from any damage. To make it look the ones on our site, we recommend keeping the bouquet tied but fluffing the stems slightly. Be gentle — dried flowers are delicate!
Keep it out of Direct Sunlight
Keep the bouquet indoors out of harsh environments and out of direct sunlight. Too much time in the sun and the stems will start to lose their color.
Do Not Water
Don’t let the vase deceive you. These dried bouquets do not need any water! Simply place in the vase and let the stems shine.
Flower Boxes / Flowers in Floral Foam & Oasis
Follow these 3 tips to extend the life of your flowers sent in a “Flower Box”.
Don’t take the flowers out of the box
Keep the floral foam moist at all times – just add water to the foam every couple of days.
Avoid direct sunlight, heat, drafts and fruits. Flowers will last longer in air-conditioned environment. Keep your flowers away from direct sunlight, open windows, cooling vents and ceiling fans as they can cause the flowers to dehydrate quickly. You also shouldn’t put your bouquet near fruit as ripening fruits release some ethylene gas which can reduce the longevity of your fresh flowers. By the way, our beautiful boxes can last even longer than our beautiful flowers and be re- usable as an excellent storage space.
